Our tree-planting project gives guests a simple way to take part in caring for a place close to Kibo View.
The Kibo View Tree-Planting Project gives guests an opportunity to plant a tree along a riverbank near the farm during their visit.
The project is part of our effort to care for an area close to Kibo View while giving guests a chance to take part in something that continues beyond their stay.
More than 20 trees have already been planted, and we are continuing to grow the project.
The planting takes place along a riverbank near Kibo View Farm.
It is a place that is closely connected to the farm and the surrounding landscape, which makes it meaningful for us to take care of it.
Rather than creating a tree-planting activity somewhere far away, we wanted to start with a place close to home, somewhere we can continue to visit, care for and watch change over time.
Kilimanjaro is more than the mountain on the horizon. It is part of the landscape, communities and environment that surround us.
We want our conservation efforts to contribute, in our own small way, to caring for this place.
The idea behind Kilimanjaro Legacy is simple: the people who visit us should have an opportunity to leave something positive behind.
A tree planted today may still be growing long after the guest who planted it has gone home.
We are deeply honoured that Kibo View Farm Lodge have been recognized at the KEP 2026 Environmental Awards for our environmental conservation and tree-planting efforts.
This achievement belongs to every guest, partner, team member, farmer and the community supporter who has helped us care for the land.
Every tree planted carries the hope of cleaner air, healthier soil, richer biodiversity, and a greener future around Mount Kilimanjaro.
Tree planting doesn’t take a lot of time, but it gives you a chance to step away from the usual activities and get your hands into the soil.
We’ll guide you through the planting process and help you choose a suitable place for your tree.
Then you plant it, water it and leave it growing alongside the others that have already been planted.
